Tulisa Contostavlos is reportedly in talks to join the next I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in hopes of a big comeback.
The singer, who has started relaunching her career by reuniting with her 00's group N-Dubz last year, is said to be keen to finally join the ITV jungle series after turning down the broadcaster multiple times in the past.
The 36-year-old, who also sat as a judge on the X Factor alongside Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow and Kelly Rowland from 2011–2012 and in 2014, has been largely off the radar in recent times after being one of the UK's most visible stars in her heyday.
"This year marks a decade since Tulisa left The X Factor, so she feels it's the right time to step back into the TV spotlight," a source told The Sun. "The positive reaction to the N-Dubz reunion tour has really boosted her confidence."
The insider continued: "Tulisa's diverse career makes her a strong contender for I'm A Celebrity because she appeals to a wide audience.
“Fans from her X Factor days know her well, and the N-Dubz tour has introduced her to a younger generation, especially through platforms like TikTok. ITV is particularly excited about her new following among 16 to 24-year-olds, and hopes the deal is finalised soon."
However, an ITV spokesperson has responded to the claim saying: "Any names suggested for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! are just speculation."
The Evening Standard has reached out to Contostavlos' team for comment. The star first rose to fame as part of the British hip-hop group N-Dubz in 2008.
She joined The X Factor after replacing Cheryl Cole and during her time on the panel, she famously mentored Little Mix, who became the first group to win the competition.
In 2022, after an 11-year hiatus, Contostavlos, along with her cousin Dappy and ex-boyfriend Fazer, reformed N-Dubz and embarked on a sold-out UK arena tour. In June 2023, the band announced their fourth studio album, Timeless, which was released in August.
The star had a number of career-threatening controversies over the years.
