Tucked away café 'Muzzy's' serving huge fry-ups and Mediterranean breakfast

There’s nothing like a good breakfast to start the day off right, and it’s even better when you don’t need to cook it.

Muzzy’s Breakfast House in Bebington, Birkenhead, has featured regularly on the ‘Wirral Takeaway and Restaurant Recommendations' Facebook group. The tucked away café has received plenty of positive reviews from happy customers, so I knew I had to try it out.

Open from 8:30am until 3:30pm, the breakfast house specialises in the most important meal of the day, with an extensive range of different dishes on offer. Reviews on TripAdvisor claim the popular breakfast venue has ‘great prices’ ‘fantastic food’ and ‘stellar service’.

I decided to order my breakfast for delivery for sheer convenience, which is sometimes a little risky when it comes to breakfast. There’s always a chance of it arriving cold or not quite up to scratch, so I was intrigued to see how my Muzzy’s breakfast would turn out.

The first thing I noticed was the sheer amount of choice on the menu. From full English to eggs benedict, poached eggs, fried eggs, omelettes to name a few. I decided to go for “Muzzy’s Breakfast” which is a traditional Mediterranean breakfast which includes an omelette with two toppings, cherry tomatoes, filo pastry, halloumi, feta cheese, Mediterranean sausage, olives, honey and jam and a sesame bagel.

We also ordered Muzzy's full English breakfast which featured two eggs, two bacon, two sausages, tomato, mushrooms, black pudding, beans, two hash browns and a slice of toast. It was safe to say we were set for an absolute feast.

The bill came to £20.60 with the fry-up costing £8.60 and the Mediterranean breakfast costing £11.50. Granted, this seemed pretty expensive, but once we’d actually received the food and realised how much we got, not to mention the quality, it was worth it in my opinion.

After making our order via Just Eat we didn’t have to wait long at all for it to be delivered, I’d say it took around 30 minutes maximum. The food arrived in takeaway boxes wrapped in cling film, which was a nice touch to keep in the warmth.

I absolutely loved my Mediterranean breakfast (Emily Sleight/ Liverpool ECHO)

The food smelled absolutely amazing, and once we’d plated up, we were amazed at just how much we’d been given. This didn’t feel like a quick greasy takeaway at all, this felt like a good home-cooked breakfast with high quality ingredients.

It was my first time trying a Mediterranean breakfast and I’m so glad I based my choice off the positive reviews online, because it was absolutely delicious. The omelette was thick and cooked to perfection with some fresh avocado on the side.

I really enjoyed the Turkish sausage which had a slight kick, and the sweetness of the honey provided made the crunchy filo pastry that extra bit tastier. Considering this was my first time ordering a breakfast like this, I was seriously impressed with the freshness and taste.

In terms of the fry-up, although the fried eggs were hard, the hash browns were golden and crunchy and the sausage in particular was really tasty. The portions were so generous and you could definitely tell that breakfasts were made with love.

As a whole, I was really impressed with the quality and convenience of the breakfasts from Muzzy’s Breakfast House. I completely understand the hype and I’ll definitely be ordering from them again.
