The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is all set to perform ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’, the wedding ceremony of Lord Venkateswara with his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi, at the Island Grounds on the banks of the Cooum river in Chennai on April 16.
“With this grand event, we will resume our pan-India dharmic activities that had been put on hold owing to the coronavirus pandemic. We pray to the Lord to shower blessings on the people of Tamil Nadu,” TTD’s Additional Executive Officer A.V. Dharma Reddy told the media after inspecting the venue, along with Local Advisory Committee (LAC) Chairman A.J. Sekhar Reddy on Sunday.
In view of the heavy inflows of devotees expected for the event, the TTD will hold yet another round of coordination meeting with the Tamil Nadu government officials including the Chief Secretary, Public Health Secretary, officials from the Chennai corporation and the Police Department.
Adequate arrangements pertaining to sanitation, security, traffic regulation, barricading, queue lines and etc should be in place, he said.
According to TTD sources, the backdrop of the stage is being meticulously designed in such a way to elevate the grandeur of the event. The programme will be aired live on the TTD’s broadcasting arm Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel (SVBC).
Accompanied by Chief Engineer Nageswara Rao, Superintendent Engineer Jagadeeswar Reddy, Deputy Electrical Engineer Ravishankar Reddy, SVBC Chief Executive Officer Suresh Kumar and Deputy Executive Officer (General) Ramana Prasad and Public Relations Officer T.
