Donald Trump's remarks at the unveiling of a new White House helipad were largely lost on viewers on Monday, after the five television networks in the presidential pool halted coverage in protest at a press ban and the administration's official livestream was drowned out by the noise of Marine One.
The event went ahead without the usual pooled television crew after the White House barred CNN, Politico and MS NOW from access, preventing CNN from carrying out its scheduled pool assignment. The three organisations have since filed legal action challenging the restrictions, arguing that they breach First Amendment protections.
