Apple and NVIDIA each pledged $25 million (£18.8 million) towards Donald Trump's White House ballroom, according to newly reported fundraising records, placing the technology companies among the project's biggest financial backers.

The figures emerged on 15 October in reporting based on documents obtained by The Washington Post. Their combined commitments amount to $50 million (£37.7 million) within a reported fundraising total of $333 million (£250 million).
