Trump would be ‘honored’ to meet Iran’s Supreme Leader if a deal is reached

  • Speaking to reporters from the Oval Office Thursday afternoon, Trump stated he didn’t want to meet Iran ’s new Supreme Leader but also would be “honored” if the opportunity arose.
  • “I don't want to meet, but if I did meet, I’d be honored to meet him. I’d like to see if we make a deal ,” the president said.
  • If Washington and ‌Tehran reached a ​deal, it was possible ‌that the ⁠two would meet, Trump added: "If it happened ... I'd ‌be ​respectful.”
