President-elect Donald Trump recently announced that he has withdrawn his support for Chad Chronister, his previous pick to lead the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). This decision came after Chronister stated that he had removed himself from consideration for the position.

Trump cited his dissatisfaction with Chronister's interactions with his pastors and other supporters as the reason for pulling his support. The President-elect specifically referenced an incident during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic when Chronister arrested a Tampa-area pastor for violating a local lockdown ordinance.
