Ian Bremmer, president of Eurasia Group, asserts that the battlefield and the politics of the US-Iran conflict are diverging significantly, with Washington's military campaign causing significant harm to Iran and not yielding the desired political outcome for President Donald Trump.
Speaking to TOI's in an interview, Bremmer said the United States had succeeded in degrading key Iranian capabilities, including ballistic missiles and naval assets, but had failed to trigger a collapse of the Iranian system or produce a leadership transition that Washington could shape. That gap, he argued, has created a far more dangerous and expensive conflict than the Trump administration expected.
