Former President Donald Trump is seeking to delay his upcoming hush money trial scheduled for March 25 in New York. His legal team has requested Manhattan Judge Juan Manuel Merchan to postpone the trial indefinitely until the Supreme Court rules on the presidential immunity claims that Trump has raised in another criminal case related to election interference in Washington, D.C.
Trump argues that he should be immune from prosecution for actions that are alleged to have occurred during his time in office as President. His lawyers contend that some of the evidence and acts mentioned in the hush money case overlap with his official duties while in the White House, thus constituting official acts.
