Trump’s Rob Reiner post drove one WWE legend to quit

Donald Trump’s abrasive statements about Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer’s death have had ripple effects. One WWE Legend is severing ties with the company because of their proximity to the United States President.

Mick Foley, aka Mankind, Cactus Jack, Dude Love, etc. made a public statement on his Facebook page. Trump’s mockery of the beloved actor and director hit the former WWE Champion hard and he decided to take a stand. TKO and the wrestling promoter have been pictured with Trump a lot. (Also, Linda McMahon is currently Education Secretary for the country, to add another layer in there.) Foley had enough and shared the news with his fans.

Foley began, “While I have been concerned about WWE’s close relationship with Donald Trump for several months – especially in light of his administration’s ongoing and cruel and humane treatment of immigrants ( And pretty much anyone who ‘looks like an immigrant’) – Reading the President’s incredibly cruel comments in the wake of Rob Reiner’s death is the final straw for me.”

“ I no longer wish to represent a company that coddles a man so seemingly void of compassion as he marches our country towards autocracy,” the Legend continued. “Last night, I informed at WWE talent relations that I would not be making any appearances for the company as long as this man remains in office.”

“Additionally, I will not be signing a new Legends deal when my current one expires in June,” he added. “I love WWE, will always treasure my time with them, and I’m deeply appreciative for all the opportunities they afforded me. But, in the words of Popeye the sailor, ‘I stands all I can stands, and I can’t stands no more’”

Reiner’s tragic death along with his wife sent waves through the entertainment community. Tributes are still piling in from disparate corners of social media. Trump has a multi layered relationship with the director, so he couldn’t resist the chance to take a side swipe at him on the way out. On Truth Social, his Rest in Peace post took the tone of a mockery. Needless to say, with a person so well liked in so many corners, it wasn’t the greatest look.

A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood,” Trump began. “Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.”

POTUS continued, “He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”
