Donald Trump has claimed that “only fake news” wants to keep the conflict in Iran going as he declared that Tehran “want to make a deal so badly.”
It came as Iran poured cold water on the US president’s reassurances that diplomacy is back on track, insisting that the military will “never come to terms with someone like you” and suggesting the US is negotiating with itself.
"I think we’re gonna end it," the US president told reporters at the Oval Office on Tuesday (24 March)
"You know, I don’t like to say this. We’ve won this. This war has been won."
