Incoming Trump border czar Tom Homan expressed concern over recent death threats against Trump nominees, stating that he now takes such threats more seriously following the recent incidents. Homan revealed that he had previously received death threats against himself and his family during his tenure as the ICE director in the first administration. He mentioned having had a security detail due to numerous threats, even after retiring from his position.
Homan attributed the negative press surrounding Trump to exacerbating the situation, citing media portrayals of him as racist and responsible for family separations. He emphasized that such negative coverage could incite individuals to act on threats, urging for a more responsible media approach.
