Donald Trump appeared to take an unexpected swipe at his own political base on Thursday after telling a room of technology leaders that he was pleased to finally have an 'extremely high IQ audience'.
'But we have an extremely high IQ audience for a change. For a change. It's very nice,' Trump said during the 'Science: A New Golden Age Summit' in Washington. The president did not explicitly mention his supporters or say that his usual audiences have low intelligence. But the repeated 'for a change' prompted critics online to interpret the remark as an implied comparison with the crowds at his political rallies.
