football.london reported last week that Parrott's own plan is to spend another season out on loan before returning to really challenge for a place in the first team squad at Spurs in the 2023/24 season. The youngster is understood to be desperate to make his mark at the club that brought him over to England in 2017.
That plan is shared by Tottenham and while he may get a chance to finally impress Conte in pre-season and could head out on the club's tour to Korea, the intention is to pick the perfect loan move to continue his progression with plenty of game time as a number nine.
A long line of Championship clubs are believed to be interested in taking him, including Swansea, Middlesbrough, Preston and QPR. Parrott's current deal with Spurs runs until the summer of 2023 but football.london understands there is an option within that contract for the club to extend it by a further year.
Speaking on international duty, Parrott admitted that he has been receiving positive messages from people at Spurs about his performances for Ireland and that he wants to impress when he returns to Hotspur Way for pre-season next month whatever is happening next for him.
"I got a few messages from people saying 'well done'," the striker was quoted as saying in the Irish Independent. "I'm not sure what’s going on [at Spurs]. All I can do is to keep trying to play well for Ireland or on loan. I can’t control what goes on there. That’s out of my hands. All I can do is try to impress whoever is there and that’s what I fully intend doing when I go back there for pre-season."
He added: "After two disappointing loans it is fair to say that things are looking up for me and I am on a bit of an upwards trajectory. I just need to keep that going, keep improving and keep giving it all. Going on loan is for playing men's football and realising what you have to do throughout a game and I think that I have matured a lot over the three loans that I've had and I am just happy that it is starting to click."
