The Trooping the Colour parade is the first event to kick off the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The parade will feature 1,500 officers and soldiers and 250 horses.
Following Trooping the Colour, the highly anticipated Jubilee flypast will take place, which will be watched by members of the royal family from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
The Queen’s Jubilee flypast is set to be a spectacular event, with 70 aircraft participating.
The flypast is taking place on Thursday, June 2 and will be visible from Buckingham palace at 1pm, the aircraft will also be seen from several counties across the country as they make their way to the Palace.
Here’s everything we know about the flypast and the types of aircraft you could spot.
Which aircraft will take part in the flypast for the Queen’s Jubilee?
The 70 aircraft taking part in the Jubilee flypast will include planes representing the Royal Air Force (RAF), British Army and the Royal Navy.
The iconic Red Arrows, famous for their spectacular aerobatic displays, will be taking part.
They’ll also be joined alongside the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, which includes six Supermarine Spitfires, two Hawker Hurricanes, a Lancaster Bomber, a C47 Dakota and two ç aircraft.
The full lineup of aircraft for the flyover hasn’t been confirmed yet, but the RAF did operate a rehearsal last week which gave a better idea of the other types of aircraft expected to participate.
A total of 22 aircraft took part in the rehearsal, according to Military Airshows, they included:

- Two Wildcat AH1s
- Puma HC2
- Chinook HC6
- Prefect T1
- Phenom T1
- Two Texan T1s
- Three C-130J Hercules’
- A400M Atlas
- C-17A Globemaster III
- P-8A Poseidon MRA1
- RC-135W Airseeker R1
- Two Voyager KC3s
- Two Hawk T2s
- Typhoon T3
- Typhoon FGR4
- Juno HT1
Route and timings for the Jubilee flypast
Military Airshows have also mapped the route and timings for the Jubilee flypast.
As long as the weather conditions allow it, the flypast will start at around 11.45am.
The aircraft will gather around The Wash in East Anglia, after take-off they will do a circuit over the North Sea and will then fly to the northwest tip of East Anglia before heading south at about 12.15pm.
The planes will then fly over Swaffham and Thetford in Norfolk, before they heat to Ipswich and Colchester in Essex.
They will then start heading towards the capital and will start to become visible over central London between 12.40pm and 1.15pm.
They're expected to fly over Buckingham Palace at 1pm.
