TRNSMT punters enjoy scorching heatwave as final day gets underway

It was a sizzling hot carnival atmosphere at TRNSMT on the third and final day of the Scots festival as the country basked in a scorching heatwave.

The pace in the early afternoon might have been slowed down by the high temperatures but it gave the festival a chilled out and relaxed Sunday vibe. Acts like Nina Nesbitt and Dylan John Thomas played on the main stage ahead of Sigala who offered crowd pleasers like ABBA’s Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! and Don’t Stop Believing complete with a hearty Glasgow chorus.

Homegrown talent Nina showed everyone what she was made of outside of her much watched Instagram and TikTok pages ahead of her forthcoming appearance at Hampden Park with Coldplay next month.

Dylan reminisced about his days busking near the event in past years, while hoards of festival goers embraced the 24 degree weather, some wearing feather boas and glitter to add a bit of extra sparkle in the dazzling sunlight.

Some, aside from a flowery garland round their necks, had gone 'taps aff' once more while others slathered on the sun cream to their already burnt necks and arms.

A Scottish festival in the sun is an altogether different experience from one in the rain and spirits were high as sunshades and buckets hats were spotted.

Lewis Capaldi is always good in the props department - with his highly anticipated performance topping the festival bill after Sigrid, DMA’s and Wolf Alice.

Lewis comes to the festival for the second time after he watched Paolo on Friday alongside his mate Sam Fender - and he'll hope to send fans home happy after a brilliant weekend at Glasgow Green.
