TRNSMT 2022 starts today and Scotland's biggest music festival is predicted to return better than ever. But news of travel chaos means ticket holders should plan ahead to ensure a stress free festival.
Scotrail confirmed that no trains will run on the last day of TRNSMT, so some will need to find alternative modes of transport. Luckily you can find all transport options to the festival here.
As usual, TRNSMT promises an incredible line up of music acts, including headliners Paolo Nutini and Lewis Capaldi, plus many more. To avoid missing out on your favourite artists, here is all you need to know about what time TRNSMT starts and ends each day, as well as other helpful event information.
What time does TRNSMT start and end each day?
TRNSMT gates open at midday and the event closes at 11pm. The VIP area stays open until Midnight.
There is a box office located next to each entrance. Box offices open an hour before doors and close at 9pm each night.
Stage times will be available on the event app nearer the time.
Can I go to TRNSMT if I am under 18?
No under 12’s are allowed entry into the festival. 12 - 15 year olds must be accompanied by an adult over 21 (1 adult minimum to 4 persons aged 12 -15 years old).
If you are attending with someone under 16 years old, we would encourage you to register with our guardianship scheme. The young person will be given a wristband on the day of the event which helps to reunite them with their guardian should they become separated.

What ID should I bring to TRNSMT?
If you’re lucky enough to look under 25, you may be asked for proof of age at the gates, so please bring acceptable valid photographic ID.
Access to Bars is restricted to persons 18 and over. A challenge 25 policy will be in operation at the event and you may be asked for proof of age.
The following types of ID are acceptable at TRNSMT:
- Current UK or Overseas Driving Licence
- Current UK or Overseas Passport
- UK only 18+ PASS scheme card
- Young Scot Card
- Ireland Age Card
- Overseas Only Valid National ID card
- Forces ID Card
What can I bring with me to TRNSMT?
According to the TRNSMT website, attendees can bring the following items:
- Blankets
- Cameras
- Cigarettes
- Ear plugs
- Hand sanitiser
- Hats
- Lip balm
- Make up
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Empty bottle no bigger than 500ml
Organisers have asked not to bring a bag it's absolutely essential. Bags larger than the sheet of A3 paper will not be aloud.
What can't I bring to TRNSMT?
Items prohibited from TRNSMT include:
Chairs
Professional cameras
Drugs
Flares
Glass or metal/hard plastic bottles (including perfume/fragrance)
Smoke canisters
Fireworks
Flags
Selfie sticks
Umbrellas
Weapons
Frisbees/boomerangs.
Megaphones
Spray paint
Umbrellas
Anyone caught trying bring any of the above items into the event risk being refused entry and possibly police action. Any prohibited items found will be confiscated and not returned.
