Tributes have been paid to a much-loved music teacher - described as 'kind, funny and gentle' - who tragically died a week after his 40th birthday.
Steven McMahon, known by many as The Bullet, was a keen pool player and was described by his friend Mauro as 'one of the kindest, funniest and most gentle men who ever lived'. He died peacefully in hospital on Friday, November 18, from a sudden and short illness, reports YorkshireLive.
Mauro said of Steven, from Huddersfield: "He passed peacefully in his sleep and is now reunited with his father and many dear friends of his. Steven was loved by many, many people.

"His local punters knew and appreciated many an evening with him and so did his previous work colleagues and friends, those students he taught music to, and all those who had the luck to spend time with such a joyful and easy-going man.
"Steven's family are most bereaved and those who knew him know just how much he loved his mother, his brother Michael, his sister in law Kim, and his little niece and nephew, Hannah and Noah. At this difficult time for all, the family are hoping that instead of sending flowers or cards, all those who wish to help could possibly donate something towards the cost of the funeral, which is being organised with date and location to be confirmed very soon.
"No amount is too small and any contribution is hugely appreciated, hoping it can go some way to alleviate the burden Steven's beloved family are under at this difficult time." He lived in Huddersfield and was unemployed at the time of his death but worked at M&S for a very long time prior to Covid.
Mauro added: "Steven was deaf but an excellent drummer and music teacher to many students. You can see a few of them remembering this aspect of his life in their posts on the fundraiser. Steven was very loved by clientele at The Peacock pub on Leeds Road which he was like family to."
And one of his friends, Jane Robertshaw said: "Steve was a lovely bloke with a heart of gold and huge personality, he used to make us signing videos to songs among the stereophonics community in all the groups, he was loved by many. Condolences to his family and friends."
