Dublin Fire Brigade have led tributes to a retired officer who passed away on Thursday.
Len Brennan, who also worked with LNB Fire Risk Management, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Len, who was from Rathfarnham, was also previously employed by the Irish Press prior to working with Dublin Fire Brigade.
The DFB wrote on Twitter: “It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of retired Sub Officer Len Brennan who worked on C Watch in Dolphin's Barn fire station. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this sad time.”

Len's loved ones described as a “gentle soul” and a lovely man in online tributes. A Dublin Fire Brigade worker wrote: “Among the memories of Len that will endure for me is that he was one of the ones that knew what he was doing, and of his sincere respect for his wife.”
Another person wrote: “I wish to extend my sincere sympathies to Len’s family- My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Len will be sadly missed by all.”
Len’s funeral service will take place in the Victorian Chapel in Mount Jerome on December 31 at 4pm. Donations, if desired, can be made to the Irish Hospice Foundation.
