Tributes flood in for 'one of a kind' missing Scot as body found on beach

Tributes have been paid to a 'one of a kind' missing Scots woman after a body was found in the search for her. Devastated pals have hailed Fiona Thomson as "a force to be reckoned with" after cops looking for the 60-year-old made a grim discovery on a beach in Gullane, East Lothian, at 7.50am on Thursday, December 15.

Fiona was reported missing 42 miles away in Dalgety Bay, Fife, on Monday, December 12. Formal identification is yet to take place but her family have been informed.

Heartbroken friends paid tribute to Fiona online, as they penned touching messages describing her as a "bubbly lady" who was "one of a kind".

One colleague Leah Bradbury wrote: "So sad to be reading this, I’ve only just started working with Fiona over the past few weeks and she was lovely, I was really hopeful this wouldn’t be the outcome… deepest condolences to family and friends… xXx"

Eileen Wylie said: "Absolutely devastated, such sad news, I just cant believe it. You will be very sadly missed Fiona, you were such a lovely bubbly lady, you will never be forgotten.xx"

While Marion Judge added: "We'll never forget our dear colleague and friend. She was a wonderful, warm, caring friend. Will miss her so much, just can't believe we won't see her again. Rest in peace dear friend."

"Such desperately sad news," Alison Fitch said. "Fiona was a force to be reckoned with and one of a kind. Condolences to her family. Rest easy my friend" Lesley Stokes said: "She was such an amazing friend. I'll miss her so much."

Kharma Hair added: "It’s not the outcome we prayed for but we are devastated to announce our beautiful friend and client Fiona Thomson who went missing has sadly passed away. We are all so sad. Our thoughts are with Fiona’s family and friends"

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding Fiona's death and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At 7.50 am on Thursday, December 15, officers were made aware of the body of a woman being found on beach at Gullane.

"Although formal identification has yet to take place, the family of Fiona Thomson, 60, who was reported missing from Dalgety bay, have been informed. There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
