Trial date set for man charged with killing teenage motorcyclist

A man has denied murdering a teenage motorcyclist who died after being hit by a car.

Harley Lea died aged 17 after a collision involving a car and two motorbikes at the junction of Park Road and Boardmans Lane in Blackbrook, St Helens, shortly after midnight on October 4 last year. Two other men, aged 20 and 23, were also injured during the incident.

Brandon Glover, of Pasture Close in Clock Face, was subsequently charged with the teen's murder. Appearing before Liverpool Crown Court via video link to HMP Altcourse today, Friday, the 24-year-old pleaded not guilty to this count.

He similarly denied charges of manslaughter, causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, two charges of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and two of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Glover is now expect to stand trial over the course of 10 days, beginning on March 13, and has been remanded into custody until this date.
