Trey Lance won’t be suiting up for the 49ers any time soon, but he is back in attendance at Levi’s Stadium for the team’s Monday night showdown vs. the Rams.
Lance, who is recovering from surgery on the the broken fibula and damaged ankle ligaments he sustained in Week 2, will hang out in the team’s suite with a handful of injured teammates according to NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco.
It’s a little surprising Lance is already cruising around and going to games. A video surfaced online of the 49ers receivers playing basketball with Lance sitting with his foot in a cast in the background. While going to the game is a minor step, it’s worth noting the team’s franchise QB is able to make the trek over.
The next step will be getting him onto the sideline for games, though that could be awhile since the club will need to ensure he can move well enough to protect himself on the sideline. There’s a strong chance he only watches in suites, but it’s surely a good sign for San Francisco that their QB of the future is in the building.
