Trevoh Chalobah responds as Chelsea agree to sell Mason Mount to Manchester United

Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has reacted to Mason Mount’s imminent move to Manchester United.

The Blues have struck a deal worth in the region of £60m with United for the England midfielder, including a £55m fee up front and a further £5m in add-ons.

Mount, a product of Chelsea’s academy, is due to undergo a medical with the Red Devils next week before signing a five-year contract.

The 24-year-old had entered the final 12 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge and was unable to agree an extension despite talks with co-owner Todd Boehly.

As a result, Mount becomes the latest big name to leave the club.

Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz have joined Manchester City and Arsenal respectively, while N’Golo Kante left for Saudi Arabia.

Chalobah is a target for Inter Milan and responded to the breaking news on Mount’s future with a Twitter message reading “My boy” accompanied with a sad face and broken heart emoji.

The Serie A giants are ready to accelerate their efforts to sign the centre-back and have held regular contact with the 23-year-old.
