A Treasury minister was unable to answer basic questions about a new crossing for the River Thames during a radio interview to highlight the government’s decision to commit a further £590m of public money to the project.
The Lower Thames Crossing will link Essex and Kent, but economic secretary Emma Reynolds was unable to say where the crossing will be or how much it will cost.
