There is the Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter Show in Boulder. On Thursday, the great two-way player made his quarterback look good while performing on a level rarely seen.
Hunter caught three touchdown passes — two of the spectacular variety — as Colorado avoided a season-opening upset at Folsom Field with a 31-26 win over North Dakota State.
The Bison are an FCS powerhouse and this was no cupcake game for Deion Sanders’ squad. They were paid $700,000 to come to Colorado and gave the Buffs a battle.
In the end, there was no answer for Hunter. He had seven catches for 132 yards and the three TDs. Jimmy Horn Jr. also had seven receptions for 198 yards and a TD.
Shedeur Sanders was 26-of-34 for 445 yards and four touchdowns. He threw one pick that was no fault of his own, as it was deflected.
But back to Hunter, who was the show.
