A local community has had its Post Office returned to it thanks to a train operator. Oxenholme, in Cumbria, saw its only Post Office close in February 2020, leaving its residents isolated.
But thanks to Avanti West Coast, the vital service has been restored. The train operator has now launched a pop-up counter inside its ticket office at Oxenholme station.
Tim Farron, Liberal Democrat MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale, said: “After two and a half years of working with Avanti West Coast and local councillors, I’m delighted that we have finally secured a new Post Office for Oxenholme.
