A new trailer for Owen Wilson's film Paint has dropped, but his resemblance to a beloved painter has left fans scratching their heads.
The trailer shows Wilson with a huge curly hairstyle and beard, and speaking in soft tones, much like Bob Ross, a highly popular painter known for his show, The Joy of Painting. His resemblance to Bob Ross had fans assuming the film was a biopic of Ross' life, but in reality it is a fictional story.
Wilson stars as Carl Nargle, Vermont’s premier public TV painter who is convinced he has it all, until his success is derailed by a younger, better artist. The trailer shows the painter spouting various wholesome and inspirational phrases, as well as being surrounded by adoring female fans.

The trailer has left fans confused, as the caption reads: "Owen Wilson stars as Carl Dangle in the first trailer for ‘PAINT’." One person joked that they had accidentally got the name wrong, replying to the tweet saying: "You misspelled Bob Ross btw." Another said: "that's Bob Ross"
One Twitter user wrote a quip that the film makers couldn't get the rights to use Bob Ross' name for the film, replying to the tweet saying: "Couldn't get the rights to bob's name?" Another asked: "Is this some sort of Bob Ross ripoff? Or is Carl Dangle an actual person?" Someone replied to saying: "I'm pretty sure it's a parody of Bob Ross"
