Last week, a tragic incident at a recycling center in New Jersey claimed the life of a married father of two. Timothy Hannold, a 50-year-old supervisor of recycling operations, was killed when he was crushed inside a dumpster at the Northern Recycling Center in Lakewood.
According to the Lakewood Police Department, the incident occurred while recycling employees were moving a recently delivered large container. Unfortunately, during the process, Timothy entered the container unbeknownst to the employees. As they attempted to upright the dumpster, the doors shifted, trapping Timothy against the inside wall. Despite their efforts, Timothy did not survive the incident.
The New Jersey Department of Labor has initiated an investigation into this tragic accident, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances that led to his death. This incident follows another fatality that occurred in August, where a man was found trapped in industrial machinery in Lakewood.
Timothy Hannold, also known as 'Timmy' or 'Ripper,' had dedicated 22 years of his life to working for the Ocean County Department of Solid Waste Management. As a supervisor of recycling operations, Timothy played a crucial role in managing waste in the area. In addition to his professional endeavors, he was a respected member of the Parkertown Volunteer Fire Department, Station 70, and a member of the Pines Club, a hunting club where he enjoyed spending time playing poker.
Described as a loving family man, Timothy is survived by his wife of 10 years, Jessica, his 7-year-old daughter Abigail, and his 21-year-old son Kaden. He was deeply passionate about playing the drums and took pleasure in working on his beloved truck, lovingly nicknamed The Tugboat. Timothy was fond of going on quad rides with his daughter, camping trips, and traveling. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family.
