Tragedy as young mum killed and son, 4, left fighting for life in hospital

Tributes have been paid to a mum-of-two who was killed in a crash that also left her young son fighting for his life.

Emma Louise Morris, 28, died in the incident on the A487 Felinheli bypass near Caernarfon, in North Wales, on Monday. Her four-year-old son suffered "life-threatening injuries" in the crash, which involved four vehicles and left three others seriously injured.

Another woman is in hospital in Stoke with serious injuries and two further people were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor with serious injuries, Wales Online reports.

Paying tribute to Ms Morris, her parents said: "Our beautiful daughter has been cruelly taken from us – and too soon. At just 28 years old our darling girl had so much more life to live. Emma Louise Morris was beautiful inside and out and will leave an enormous void in all of our lives.

"We are very grateful for all the kind words received from family and friends but we would ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time and we will not issue any further comment. We continue to monitor our grandson who remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital. We pray that he will heal soon.”

North Wales Police said the collision took place at about 7pm on April 3 and involved a dark grey Audi A3, saloon, a BMW 1 series, Peugeot 208, and a Skoda Octavia. Ms Morris, the driver of the Peugeot, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A JustGiving fundraiser has been organised by friends with proceeds going towards' Ms Morris' two sons and their father and has currently raised more than £1,800. An appeal has been issued for witnesses and dashcam footage, particularly of the Audi, which could provide information about the crash, which took place between 6.30pm and 7pm.
