Tragedy as man dies after police and paramedics called to Tynemouth Social Club

A man has died in a popular Tyneside social club.

Police and paramedics scrambled to Tynemouth Social Club just after 8pm on Friday due to concerns for a man's welfare.

However, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene on Front Street.

Police have confirmed that there is not believed to have been any third party involvement in the man's death. A report is now being prepared for the coroner.

A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: “At about 8.15pm on Friday (August 5) we received a report of concern for the welfare of a man inside Tynemouth Social Club.

“Emergency services attended and sadly the man was declared as deceased. His next of kin have been notified.

“There is not believed to have been any third party involvement and a report will be made for the coroner.”

A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 8.10pm on Friday 5 August to reports of an incident at Tynemouth Social Club on Front Street, Tynemouth. We dispatched one ambulance crew, and two specialist paramedics."
