Emergency services have rushed to attend a lorry on fire on a busy Glasgow motorway at rush hour.
The M73 is currently closed in both directions at Gartcosh after junction 2a to junction 2 at Baillieston.
Both fire crews and police are in attendance at the scene.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they were called at around 6.44am on Thursday to a report of a vehicle on fire.
Traffic is being held on the road and is stationary on approach.
Drivers have been advised to use caution on approach and find an alternative route at this time.
Delays are to be expected and it is unknown how long the road will be blocked.
Lanarkshire Police said: "The M73 is currently closed in both directions following a report of a lorry fire.
" Police are at the scene and the road is closed northbound from junction 2 Baillieston interchange and southbound from junction 2a at Gartcosh."
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson told the Record: "This is an ongoing incident.
"We got a call at around 6.44am on Tuesday, March 24, to a report of vehicle on fire on the M73.
"Six pumps are in attendance."
