Trafalgar Releasing and CJ 4DPlex have announced a strategic partnership aimed at producing, programming, delivering, and marketing four K-pop cinema releases globally in 2024. These films will be showcased in premium formats such as ScreenX, 4DX, Ultra 4DX, and traditional cinema locations. Trafalgar Releasing entered the K-pop market in 2018 with the release of 'BTS: Burn the Stage the Movie,' which has since generated over $120 million in box office revenue from K-pop releases.
The first project under this partnership is 'aespa: World Tour,' a special cinematic presentation capturing the group's global tour. It will be screened in more than 45 countries on April 24 and 27, with three additional titles to be announced later in the year. Trafalgar Releasing and CJ 4DPLEX have collaborated on global cinema releases since 2021, including Coldplay's Music of the Spheres Tour and various K-pop artists like Blackpink, Seventeen, IU, MonstaX, and NCT Dream.
