A popular local pub in the south west of Edinburgh is set to be replaced by a Domino's pizza takeaway restaurant.
Plans have been put forward to the council's planning team to transform The Abbot's Choice, on Pentland View Court, Currie, into the well-known pizza takeaway and delivery joint.
The pub currently occupies buildings 4-5 at the side of Lanark Road West and is situated around the corner from a Scotmid and several other small businesses.

The public house is very much traditional, hosting live sports and evening entertainment in a local surrounding. However, a cloud of uncertainty over the future of the boozer has emerged with the applicant, DPSK Ltd behind the recent proposals.
It is understood that if granted, the Domino's takeaway restaurant would occupy 4-5 Pentland View Court, as the plans state the applicant's desire to erect the company's famous logo on both sides of the building.
In November 2022, the initial application to make alterations to the pub was validated by the City of Edinburgh Council. Various proposed blueprints show how the interior of the building will be re-shaped to form a kitchen and front counter.
