Her Majesty's trade commissioner to Europe has admitted that the pandemic and Ukraine conflict have made post-Brexit trade with the EU much more challenging.
Chris Barton spoke to Insider during a trip to Edinburgh this week, speaking to industry organisations and a variety of Scottish businesses, listening to concerns and explaining the support that's on offer.
"There's no getting away from it, the last couple of years have been challenging for trade in general - with Covid and the Russian invasion of Ukraine compounding issues following the transition period," he stated.
