An urgent recall has been issued for popular childrens' toys sold on Joom and eBay
Irish parents have been advised to get rid of several toys and baby products sold on Joom, Amazon, eBay and Currys and Boots. The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued a warning on a Pikachu soft toy sold on Joom, a toy airplane sold on eBay, a baby monitor sold in Currys, Boots and McCabes Pharmacy, and a perfume factory set sold on Amazon.
The main issues with these toys range from a choking hazard due to stuffing, a risk of choking on small batteries, and harmful chemicals that may cause skin allergies.
Parents are being warned to immediately dispose of these products, and keep them out of reach of children. Here's everything you need to know about which products have been recalled, and how to get your money back for a refund.

Pikachu soft toy
A safety issue has been identified with a Pikachu Soft Toy sold on the Joom platform. The CCPC issued a recall for the product on July 5.
They said: "The risk reported to the CCPC is choking as the inner stuffing material of the soft toy is accessible which may lead to a child choking on it."
The brand, model number, batch number and the bar code are unknown. According to the CCPC, there are eight of these affected products purchased in Ireland.
Anyone who bought this product is being urged to stop using it and discard it. People who bought this product can contact Joom for a refund via their Joom account.
Dream Aircraft Toy
Parents are being urged to stop using and dispose of the Dream Aircraft Toy sold on eBay due to a choking hazard.
The CCPC's recall notice reads: "The product presents a risk of choking as the battery compartment on the toy is not secured with a screw. If a child were to play with the toy the batteries may fall out and the child may choke on them if ingested."
The eBay item number is 165979781982. The carton numbers are SKU G340-TY0499, RVG340-230223-0001-3, D1193439.
The brand, model number, batch number and the barcode are unknown. It is not known how many of these toy planes were sold in Ireland.
People who bought this product are asked to stop using it and to keep it out of the reach of children. The eBay seller can be contacted for a refund via your eBay account.
Bluebell Baby Monitor
The Bluebell Baby Monitor has been recalled due to concerns it does not adequately monitor children. The item is sold online by Boots, Currys and McCabes Pharmacy.
Regulatory body Comreg issued a statement on the recall through their website. They said: "The product is no longer safe to use as there is an issue with the data transfer between the monitor and the app that supports the monitor system.
"There is a potential risk of the child not being monitored correctly."
The brand is Bluebell Baby Monitor. The models are:

- Bluebell Smart Baby Monitor
- Bluebell Baby Monitor 7-in-1
- Bluebell Baby Monitor

If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately and contact your supplier to see if there are any remedies available to you.
Science4You Perfume Factory Mini Kit
A perfume factory set sold on eBay has been recalled because it contains chemicals that can irritate skin.
The Competitions and Consumer Protection Commission's recall notice reads: "A safety issue has been identified with a Science4You Perfume Factory Mini Kit sold on the eBay platform.
"The risk reported to the CCPC is a chemical risk. A child may be exposed to sensitizing chemicals in the product and may develop an allergic reaction."
The brand is Science4You, and the model number is Mini kit. The barcode is 5600310393974, and the batch number is unknown.
Parents are being urged to contact the eBay seller to see if there are any remedies available through your user account on the eBay platform.
