Crossing into France via the Jura Mountains, a hilly stage 3, featuring 2500 metres of elevation gain over 156.5 kilometres, will deliver a GC shakeup.
Heading north from Geneva, the peloton will cross into France after four kilometres, as the road continues to rise on the way to the Col de la Faucille (11.4km at 6.3%) soon followed by Côte de Lajoux, a perfect launch point for the breakaway. After a 32km descent towards Morbier, the road goes up again with Col de la Savine and then by the Côte de Chaux-Champagny, 25km from the finish.
