Kalvin Phillips could hardly do any more to endear himself to the Leeds United supporters. As someone who grew up as a Whites fan, he knows exactly what it is like to follow the club and he has shown on a number of occasions just how in touch he is with the fanbase.
The thousands of home supporters inside Elland Road on Saturday were extremely happy to see the England midfielder return to action from the bench against Southampton. His smile from ear to ear at full time told the story of his excitement to be back playing for the team he loves.
His 25-minute cameo wasn’t the only thing he did at the weekend that put smiles on the faces of Leeds fans. A video surfaced on Twitter which showed Phillips turning up on the doorstep of a young fan who was celebrating his birthday.
