Tottenham vs Manchester City game simulated to predict intriguing Premier League clash

A thrilling contest is expected on Sunday when Tottenham face Manchester City in the Premier League.

Spurs booked their spot in the fifth round of the FA Cup in their last outing, with a Heung-Min Son brace followed by a debut goal from Arnaut Danjuma securing a 3-0 win over Preston North End. Following on from a 1-0 win over Fulham, a win for Spurs on Sunday would make it three wins on the bounce for Antonio Conte 's side, a feat they've only done once so far this season.

After going 2-0 up in the reverse fixture last month, Spurs fell to a 4-2 defeat at the Etihad, and Conte will be hoping his side can put in a stronger performance this time round.

Spurs have won their last four home games against City in all competitions without conceding a goal, so can they continue the impressive trend on Sunday? We simulated the game to find out.

We predict that City could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Ake; Rodri, De Bruyne, Gundogan; Mahrez, Haaland, Grealish.

Spurs started on the back foot against City, with Conte's side spending most of the opening 30 minutes pegged back in their own half. The pressure was relentless from the visitors, and two quickfire goals before half-time saw Spurs enter the break two goals down.

Haaland made it 1-0 to City (EA SPORTS FIFA)

The first goal came from Erling Haaland, with the striker finding the corner of the net with a powerful strike from Jack Grealish's cut back. Four minutes later, City grabbed a second, with Rodri silencing the stadium with a rocket to find the top corner from outside the box.

Half-time saw Conte introduce Pedro Porro and Yves Bissouma in a hope of finding a way back into the game. 14 minutes after the restart, Spurs pulled a goal back as Porro grabbed an assist on his debut.

Kulusevski made it 2-1 (EA SPORTS FIFA)

A long ball forward to Porro on the right saw the Spaniard find Dejan Kulusevski in the middle, and after skipping past Nathan Ake, the Swedish international opted to shoot from range. With Ederson's view blocked, the 'keeper didn't see the strike until it was too late, and Kulusevski's powerful effort nestled into the far corner to halve the deficit.

All of a sudden, Spurs were on top, and they came inches away from finding the equaliser when Son's volley at the back stick bruised the post. The chances kept falling for the Lilywhites as City started to crumble, and in the 72nd minute, Harry Kane made it 2-2.

Bissouma flicked the ball into the path of Kulusevski who found himself in a central position again, and the forward scooped the ball forward for Kane to chase. In a dangerous position, the striker shot early, and his strike flew across Ederson and into the far corner to draw the game level.

Neither side were able to find a winner in the final stages of the game, and the points were shared.
