Tottenham’s full focus will be on ending this season as strong as possible, with Champions League qualification still hanging in the balance. Antonio Conte’s side have started to find some rhythm under the Italian and currently sit fourth heading into the final stretch of the season.
North London rivals Arsenal are in fifth with the same points, an inferior goal difference but crucially a game in hand. There’s also the upcoming derby match between the two sides, which could decide the fate of the top four.
A return to the Champions League could give Spurs a huge boost financially, but it may also allow the club to attract better players come the summer. Given Conte’s work in January to improve the squad, bringing in Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, the next transfer window could be key for him and his side competing at the top again.

The Lilywhites have been linked with a number of players and football.london has compiled some of the most recent ones that could make the switch to North London.
Christian Eriksen return
Christian Eriksen could be set to make his return to Tottenham in the summer, according to the Independent. The report claims that Spurs are interested in re-signing the playmaker, who is a free agent at the end of the season, just two-years after he left the club.
The Dane has made a remarkable return to football less than a year after he collapsed in Denmark’s game with Finland at Euro 2020. He left Inter Milan following the implementation of a heart device to stop a recurrence of the incident, but under Serie A rules he couldn’t play again this season.
Eriksen left the Nerazzurri by mutual consent, joining up with Brentford on a deal until the end of the season. In just four Premier League appearances this season he has scored one and assisted one.
Spurs eye two centre-back targets
Antonio Conte is keen on adding a left-sided centre-back in the summer and the Athletic reports that Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni and RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol are two targets. Bastoni, 22, played under the Italian at Inter Milan and is tipped for big things.
As for Gvardiol, 20, he has played on the left of a back three all season, impressing with Bundesliga title challengers Leipzig. Both targets are eyed for the summer, but the report claims Spurs would have to pay big fees to land them.
Manchester United battle for defender
Tottenham and Manchester United are set for a transfer battle this summer as Gazzetta dello Sport reports that both Premier League clubs are interested in Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar. The 27-year-old won the Scudetto under Antonio Conte with the Nerazzurri last year and could be a dependable figure for him in London too.
His current deal expires in 2023 and with a lack of contract talks, it could open the door to a potential move away.
