Hugo Lloris
Made a good low save six minutes in from Goncalves and big reaction save from Edwards just before half-time. Made a phenomenal save from Porro late on but could not do much about the two goals. 9
Cristian Romero
Not his usual commanding self and was drifted past far too easily by Gomes in the final moments. 6

Eric Dier
Starting all the play from the back with Lloris tapping him the ball instead of kicking it. His passing ranged from good to poor. Needed to lead the back line in those final moments but didn't. 6
Ben Davies
Had his hands full with Edwards and Trincao at times down the left hand side and some of his play going forward wasn't great. 5
Emerson Royal
Found himself in the box in the first half when a Perisic long throw fell his way but he was falling and couldn't quite prod it over the keeper. Early in second half he saw a header and a volley saved by the keeper from Kane balls into this path. Same old story with his attacking bluntness and at the back he was beaten in the air with Kane for Paulinho's header and then Gomes skipped past with a nutmeg far too easily. 5
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
Plenty of industry put also some sloppy moments with the ball, one of which earned him a yellow card after he had to commit a tactical foul to stop a resulting Sporting attack. 5
Rodrigo Bentancur
Better on the ball than his midfield partner but failed to stem Sporting's counter attacks through the centre on occasions. 6
Ivan Perisic
Crafted a couple of first half chances for Richarlison and Emerson and further opportunities in the second half that should have been put away. An excellent creative outlet down the left for Spurs and used all of his experience for much of the match. One of Spurs' better players other than one moment of iffy defending when Edwards left him in his wake. 8
Richarlison
Had a couple of chances midway through the first half with a blocked shot and a header at the keeper. Rounded the keeper and put the ball in the net towards the end of the half but he was a long way offside. He put Kane away for a chance early in the second half before showing good feet to carve out some space in the box himself only to curl his effort well wide. Industrious but lacking in end product on this occasion. 6
Harry Kane
Struggled with some of his passing in the first half but picked out Emerson twice early in the second period for good chances. He then flashed a shot of his own across goal which the keeper parried. Didn't grab the game by the scruff of the neck though as a player of his quality should at this level. 5
Son Heung-min
Made some good runs but ultimately struggled to create much in the final third before being replaced by Kulusevski. 5
Subs
Dejan Kulusevski
Will have felt aggrieved to be on the bench for a third straight game and quickly brought more dynamism to Spurs' game. Immediately won a free-kick with a dribble down the right and then created a chance for Richarlison. 6
