Tottenham news: Celtic eye permanent move for Spurs star as Eric Dier makes 'consistency' claim

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Tuesday, March 22.

Celtic optimistic about Carter-Vickers deal

Celtic are ‘hopeful’ that they can see off Premier League competition for the permanent signing of Cameron Carter-Vickers from Spurs, according to Dean Jones, via the Transfer Tavern. The centre-back is currently on a season-long loan with the Scottish outfit, and they would like to make the deal permanent in the summer.

However, Carter-Vickers has reportedly attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including quintet Leicester City, West Ham United, Wolves, Burnley and Watford.

Dybala's dream transfer

Juventus star Paulo Dybala is set to be one of the most lucrative free agents available this summer. And the 28-year-old is set to be hot property if he does end up leaving Turin.

Plenty of big teams across Europe have been linked with a move for the 28-year-old, with Tottenham said to be interested. Nevertheless, if Dybala's previous words are anything to go by, the Argentine would prefer a move to one of two other European giants, with one of those sides being domestic rivals Manchester City.

"When I play with the PlayStation, I always choose Barcelona or Manchester City," Dybala told Guerin Sportivo, via the Express, in 2015. "I dream to play one day with one of those clubs."

Dier's 'consistency' claim

Eric Dier believes that he is enjoying his most consistent season for Tottenham Hotspur and that his fellow defender Cristian Romero is showing exactly what Antonio Conte wants.

"I feel for me this is consistently my best season I have had so far at Tottenham. My consistency, overall [in any position], I don’t think I've ever shown the consistency in the performances that I have shown this season and I feel like my football is the best it has been in my opinion," he said.

"It is always very nice when a manager, especially one like him, says those things, it gives me a lot of confidence, but the thing I pay most attention to from his words are that I have a lot of space for improvement and I think that is really the thing he says that I focus on the most. I want to fill that space, fill that potential, as much as possible, as much as he thinks possible."
