Atletico Madrid are in talks with Tottenham over a deal to sign Sergio Reguilon on loan, football.london understands. Signed from Real Madrid two years ago, the left-back is no longer in Antonio Conte's Spurs plans and is available for a move.
As well as interest from Atleti, Fulham and Lazio are also keen on securing a loan deal for the 25-year-old ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline. Impressing under Jose Mourinho in his first campaign in north London, the Spain international was a regular to begin with last season before losing his place in the team to Ryan Sessegnon as the campaign progressed.
Although Reguilon did shine in his debut season with his forward runs as he registered six assists, Conte's decision to switch to a three-man defence with wing-backs has not suited his game after operating as a full-back his entire career. Falling behind Sessegnon in the pecking order, the Madrid-born star also dropped a further place this summer following Ivan Perisic's switch to Tottenham from Inter Milan.

One of four players left out of the team's pre-season tour plans, he has continued to remain out of the matchday squad along with Harry Winks. After securing loan moves for both Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele to Villarreal and Napoli respectively, Spurs now need to move on Reguilon and Winks ahead of Thursday's 11pm transfer deadline.
Speaking to football.london out in Israel at the end of July, Conte outlined the club's plans for the quartet following their absence.
"I think that we spoke with the club and the players are informed about the plans for the next season," he confirmed ahead of the friendly vs Roma. "We are talking about really good players and the club and I, we think they deserve to play games regularly. For this reason these players are not here."
Reguilon, who has also been linked with Nottingham Forest, has two goals and nine assists from his 67 appearances for Tottenham.
