Tottenham Hotspur 'join race' for Caoimhin Kelleher as Liverpool valuation named

Tottenham Hotspur could rival two Premier League teams for the services of Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher this summer.

Kelleher, who is contracted until 2026, is stuck behind Alisson in the pecking order and will continue to serve as his understudy for as long as the Brazilian remains at Anfield. This has limited the 24-year-old to only three first-team appearances this campaign, with starts further limited due to the Reds suffering early exits in both domestic cup competitions.

A summer exit could therefore be forthcoming as the shot-stopper looks to establish himself as a No.1 away from Anfield, with Kelleher admitting at the end of last year he may have to assess his options at the end of the current term.

Transfer offers could well be forthcoming for the Cork-born keeper, with a latest report by the Irish Independent suggesting Spurs are set to rival Brighton and Brentford for Kelleher due to 'doubts' over Hugo Lloris' long-term future in north London.

The above article adds the Reds would be willing to sanction a departure should a £20million bid be submitted, though it remains to be seen if this proves to be the case. Discussing what could come next this summer, last season's Carabao Cup hero said: "Obviously when I get my chance I need to take it. That is all I am focusing on really. I just need to be ready so I can step in if there's an injury or if I'm needed.

"I am quite relaxed, so I don't mind watching, but obviously I'd rather be playing but I just try to be as focused as I can be when I watch so I am ready if I am needed. Listen, I think we've obviously only just come back into the middle of the season. So we'll just see what the season brings and then after that we'll see, we'll see what happens after that. But I think at the moment, for now, I just have to be focused on trying to be ready for Liverpool."
