Tottenham eye Marc Guehi transfer in Fabio Paratici plan as Crystal Palace price tag revealed

Tottenham are starting to draft up their plans for the summer transfer window as the side look to take one step closer to being competitive at the top of the league. A whole host of additions were made last summer with the focus of adding depth to the squad, with quality following after.

January saw Arnaut Danjuma join on loan from Villarreal with an option to buy while Pedro Porro signed from Sporting CP on deadline day on a loan to buy deal as well. With every window that passes, it appears as though more quality and depth is added to the squad, seeing through with Antonio Conte's vision.

"At the start of this season I said to you that we need to go step by step and have time and patience and have two or three transfer markets to bring this squad to be competitive to play in two competitions like Premier League and Champions League," the Italian said earlier this season on the need for time before his side are pushing at the top.

The next window in the summer offers the biggest chance yet to show real progression, with Fabio Paratici eyeing several additions. One of those may be at centre-back, with Clement Lenglet's loan expiring at the end of the season and a general lack of quality depth for a back five.

football.london understands that Inter Milan's Alessandro Bastoni is a target as well as RB Leipzig's Josko Gvardiol and Bayer Leverkusen's Piero Hincapie. There's also been an interest in Marc Guehi, who has impressed since joining Crystal Palace from Chelsea.

The Daily Mail reports that the Eagles have placed a transfer tag of £45million on the England international, with any bids in excess of that potentially tempting a switch. It could prove to be a huge move for Spurs if it goes through, with the defender also helping the squad's homegrown quota.
