Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris pulls out of France squad with thigh injury

Tottenham have been dealt a potential injury worry ahead of next month’s huge north London derby with Arsenal.

Spurs defender Ben Davies has already been ruled out of Wales’ UEFA Nations League games against Belgium and Poland as a result of a knee injury and Antonio Conte has seen another key player forced to drop out of the upcoming set of international games.

The French Football Federation have revealed captain Hugo Lloris has been replaced by Nantes goalkeeper Alban Lafont, with the Spurs skipper suffering a thigh injury during Saturday’s 6-2 win over Leicester City.

While the full extent of the injury is unclear, missing Lloris for the trip to Arsenal on October 1 would be a huge blow given the Gunners’ impressive form in front of goal this season.

Fraser Forster was brought in over the course of the summer and does boast a huge amount of Premier League experience, though is yet to play for the club in a competitive sense.
