Tottenham blow as Igor Tudor issues new injury update before crunch Crystal Palace clash

Igor Tudor has confirmed Djed Spence is still out injured for Tottenham’s crunch game against Crystal Palace.

Spence missed last weekend’s 2-1 defeat to Fulham with a minor calf injury as Spurs failed to put distance between themselves and the relegation zone.

The full-back is not ready to return but Spurs hope he will be fit for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with Atletico Madrid next week.

"No, Djed is out,” said Tudor on Wednesday. “Not ready for the game tomorrow. We hope for Champions League game."

Spence’s absence against Palace is a blow for Spurs, who are still battling an injury crisis and remain without captain Cristian Romero through suspension.

Romero will serve the last game of his four-game suspension against Palace following his red card at Manchester United.

Destiny Udogie is closing in on a return to fitness after suffering a hamstring injury at the start of February.

Former Spurs boss Thomas Frank suggested it would take between four to five weeks for Udogie to return to fitness when he spoke to the press ahead of his final game in charge.

Asked if there is any update on Udogie or Dejan Kulusevski, Tudor said: “No, not yet, Kevin (Danso) is back, last game already, so he's back. No other news, there is no other news.”
