A new American-themed bar is coming to one area of Merseyside.

‘Maverick’s’ an American Themed Dive Bar will be opening on the corner of Lord Street and Leicester Street in Southport. The bar is being opened by the Mikhail Hotel and Leisure Group who own several other venues around Liverpool.

The owners claim that this Top Gun-inspired venue has been "obsessively curated" to mimic life in an American dive bar. The building, formerly a Pizza Express, has sat empty for several years.
