One of the UK’s top house acts are bringing their distinctive sound to Dundee later this year.
Powerhouse pairing Illyus & Barrientos are set for a mega gig in Church in August.
Described as ‘one of the hottest acts around’ the DJs and producers’ visit is a real coup for event organisers.
Ross Jackson, Experience House promoter and resident DJ, couldn’t contain his excitement for the event on Saturday 20 August.
He told Dundee Live: “Since our launch night at Church in February, we’ve been looking for the perfect act to match the sound we’re looking for at Experience House.
“I’ve been a huge fan of Illyus & Barrientos for years so I’m really excited to have them come play for us in Dundee. They’re absolutely on fire at the moment and are sure to absolutely smash the place when they play.”
The pair have diverse origins – Barrientos has Chilean parents and was born in America, while Illyus grew up in Frankfurt after being born in Govan.
They met on Glasgow’s dance floors in 2014, building a friendship over their mutual love of the kind of unashamedly big, floor-filling modern house tunes that have since propelled them to dizzying levels of acclaim.
Ross added: “Their diverse influences come together to create some spectacular dance floor alchemy.
“Raw and funky, their tracks pulse with percussive energy and deep, infectious hooks.
“They’re currently riding high in the charts with the massive ‘Sublime’ - a driving bass line heavy record that'll whip the dance floor into shape.”
Joining Illyus & Barrientos on the night are the Experience House resident DJs.
