Survival horror games have increasingly become popular ever since Resident Evil 2 remake launched in 2019. Between stellar remakes such as Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 and 13-year-in-the-making sequels like Alan Wake 2, AAA games are thriving like never before.
2026 is no different in this regard. The first half of the year has had some stellar releases, including Resident Evil Requiem, which is a popular choice for this year’s Game of the Year award. The second half of the year has even more exciting new high-profile horror games and DLCs in store that any genre enthusiast shouldn’t miss out on.
