Tom Parker dished out some poignant advice to fellow cancer sufferers as he urged them to live life.
The Wanted singer tragically passed away on Wednesday, aged just 33, following a fight with terminal brain cancer.
HIs wife Kelsey Hardwick announced the heartbreaking news in a statement on social media, as she said the singer was the “centre of our world”.
The couple share two young children together - daughter Aurelia Rose, and son Bodhi.
As thousands of fans paid tribute to Tom following his tragic death, Capital shared a series of tweets celebrating the singer’s life, and uploaded a clip from an interview last year with the star.
Speaking to hosts Roman Kemp and Sian Welby, he was asked if he “had any advice for anyone going through something similar”, and his response stunned the studio into silence.
“Live your life, do you know what I mean? I think we’re all guilty of it. Cancer diagnosis or not, we all get taken away with every day.
“We don’t really have a moment to just sit there and appreciate what we’ve got.
“And I think that’s the one thing I’ve actually learnt from this journey, is just to appreciate every day you get given.
“Because none of us are guaranteed tomorrow,” he concluded, as Roman looked visibly upset by Tom’s words.
Fans flocked to the replies on the post, as they paid tribute to the singer.
“Life has a way of taking the very best, too soon and changes the lives of those affected by it forever. Heartbreaking for your children. You fought like a warrior Tom Parker, rest in peace,” one wrote.
“Absolutely devastating news so sad so young . Thinking of his loving family at the very sad and hard time X,” another added.
“This floored me seeing this … What a brave and courageous man RIP Tom,” one wrote.
In a statement on Instagram, Kelsey shared a black-and-white photo of Tom as she confirmed the devastating news that he had passed away, almost two years after being diagnosed with an inoperable tumour.
“Tom was the centre of our world. We can't imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence,” she wrote.
“We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom's light continues to shine for his beautiful children.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I'm forever proud of you,” Kelsey added.
